Love me as I am...
First off, I love it. Straight up. You never lost your sense of turning the dark and horrifying into something of malevolent beauty. Not that this is all that terrifying, but there is usually some creepy, back-of-the-mind aura to your work, and that really grabs my attention and keeps me coming back for more.
I really like black and white pictures. It drives home some sense of starkness... and then you punctuate with a nice bright color, it just looks beautiful. It's simple and effective. The butterflies made me wonder about some concepts. Here they are, seemingly born from light or the crystal, flitting around, dancing in this light, right? But then some break away, and try to fly up and away, only to start to disintegrate, and return to the abyss. Not to draw on this for too long I'll just say it's a very nice visual metaphor for some heavy ideas, at least to me.
One thing I noticed while looking at the butterflies was the clothe in the background. It caught my eye suddenly, and then I looked closer at what I thought was a face concealed by hair to see that the clothe goes all the way up as a hood of some sort. The eye hole freaked me out for a second! Then the picture kind of went through a bit of a metamorphosis in my head, adding more to the aforementioned ideas above.
The only thing I'm worried about is the text. I don't think there is anything wrong with the design as a whole, but it does seem a tad too bright with the white in the center of the letters. It might take away from the rest of your gorgeous composition, as the rest of it is very dark and soft.
I'm astounded as I always am with your work. Another crazy pic as only you can deliver!
